Sony announce Android OS TV sets

Just a quick post for Friday night. Sony have said they'll be launching a set of TV that'll run on Android (with Intel chips).

Intel are putting together a new set of Atom chips to run Android. They'll be called Dragonpoint.

We might wonder why the TVs aren't using Chrome OS. I guess it's because Chrome OS is neither here nor proven where Android is. In my mind it suggests Google may have to hurry to merge the two; as I'm sure they will.

Yet another party; Logitech, is likely to come on board and help out with accessories for the TV sets. I imagine they mean pointers and keyboards, etc.

Bloomberg has the full story.
